About Us

Mike plays golf.

We’d like to say that Mike is a golfer, but that would probably be a stretch.  Because Mike had all of these 3D printers laying around and because he needs all the help he can get on the golf course, he decided to try to make a better golf tee.

3D Printing on Par

Because Tee Cup tees are manufactured using 3D printers, we have the ability to modify our designs very quickly and easily.

"Elastomers" are no Misnomer!

Elastomer is just a fancy name for rubber. Instead of the whole tee, this material lets us focus on the part that matters—what's holding the ball.

Wait, It's Just the Top?

Yep—Just snap it on!

Mike, the inventor of the Tee Cup Tees, spent nearly 3 decades doing engineering for aerospace companies.  He eventually started his own engineering company and began manufacturing and selling 3D printers.  For those of you who never stray very far from a golf course - or the 19th hole, 3D printers are basically robots that can make almost anything imaginable out of plastic - one thin layer at a time.

Mike plays at golf.  We’d like to say that Mike is a golfer, but that would probably be a stretch.  Because Mike had all of these 3D printers laying around and because he needs all the help he can get on the golf course, he decided to try to make a better golf tee.  So Mike started designing golf tees that he could print on his printer.  He experimented with all sorts of different plastic materials, but none of them really stood up very long against his Taylor Made Burner driver.

That said, why would anyone want to use our Tee Cup tees?  We do believe that our tee will work as well or better than any of the other tees on the market.

  • Tee height – The Tee Cup tee raises the ball off a standard tee allowing for better alignment with the “sweet spot” of today’s larger drivers.
  • Ball positioning – the relatively large diameter of the tee allows for tilting the angle of the tee shaft in any direction desired.  Some believe that tilting toward the hole increases distance and straightness.
  • Tee protection – the Tee Cup is designed to work with standard wooden or plastic tees.  The durable elastomer cup acts like a shock absorber to the tee, allowing for many more drives with any given tee.  Almost everyone who has used the “Tee Cup” has remarked on how much longer their normal tees last.
